7 Celebrities Who Struggle with Breakouts and Adult Acne

Although you wouldn't know it thanks to professional makeup and Photoshop, many celebrities struggle with breakouts and adult acne. For celebrities, the pressure to look perfect is even more taxing than it is for everyday people like me Imagine a life if revealing imperfect skin could keep you from getting your next job,, not to mention thousands of critical comments if you posted a less-than-pretty Instagram selfie?

Nevertheless, celebrities are just human, many of deal with acne  just like the rest of us. Here are a few of their stories, maybe you can relate.

1. Cameron Diaz

 

The actress has chronicled her struggle with acne in The Body Book and her aesthetician Christopher Watts told NewBeauty. about the treatments she uses to treat it. She's conscious of it and goes to great measures to handle and correct it. I regularly do microdermabrasion on her, with a lactic acid peel,” he said. He added that she also likes to use LED light treatments to help to “lessen breakouts.”

2. Kelly Clarkson

 

The American Idol winner has been a spokesperson for acne treatment system Proactiv, after battling acne while in the spotlight. “I just break out, like, all on my chin and I already have enough people judging everything I do, I don’t want them judging my skin,” she has said. She credits the stress of her job for causing her acne to flare up and I can only imagine how true that must be.

3. Harry Styles

 

The former One Direction singer has talked about his acne before, which has also been a major source of media speculation. "I wear so much spot cream at night, I have more on than my mum,” he once told the Daily Star.

4. Adam Levine

 

Adam Levine is also a spokesperson for Proactiv, who suffered from acne while he was in high-school, which he recounts as having made him “insecure.” "When I was in high school and had acne, I spent a lot of time sulking in my room and being upset," he told E! News.

5. Emma Stone

 

Emma has suffered from acne as a teen and broke out badly while she was filming her breakout role in the movie Easy A."... I had bad hormonal acne when I was 17, and they put me on Accutane for it...since then, my skin, my mouth, my lips, my eyes are all so dry. Then, I had stress acne when I was 20, when I did 'Easy A', which they kindly video-airbrushed out of the movie,” she told Refinery29 in an interview.

6. Keira Knightley

 

The gorgeous actress has also suffered from acne and has felt insecure about it. “I'm incredibly self-conscious about the fact that I get bad skin, she told Australian Vogue in an interview. Despite this, I’m sure we all still consider her to be a knockout.

7. Brad Pitt

 

Brad Pitt is arguably one of the most famous actors in the world and considered to be incredibly handsome, but the star has suffered from acne, once upon a time. See, even the hottest people in the world get acne, too!

8. Katy Perry

 

Katy is a celeb who has had to deal with public scrutiny about her skin, which was something she used to feel insecure about. "My skin used to be a lot more worse than it is, so we would do a lot of coverage because I was insecure about my skin,” she told Vogue.
