Try One of These Four Gentle Facial Cleansers Now for Clear, Healthy Skin Tomorrow

Woman washing her face

Rachel DuranLike many people who struggle with pimples and blemishes, I’ve tried everything I thought might help, including some powerful face washes.

After a lot of trial and error, I’ve learned that a cleanser’s job should be simple: wash away oil, debris, and impurities—and do it as gently as possible.

Instead of blasting the entire face with intense washes and scrubs that may strip and irritate skin, I made an extremely mild cleanser the first part of my skincare routine.

Cleansing is always followed by a moisturizer, in the morning SPF is mandatory. For problem areas, a focused spot treatment like our Acne Control Complex comes next.

If you want clearer skin and you're moving toward a healthier care routine, consider one of these these four daily cleansers.

Whole Foods 365 Daily Facial Cleanser

For dry, sensitive skin, Whole Foods 365 CleanserCetaphil may be the favorite recommendation of dermatologists. But the skincare aisle at Whole Foods also hosts a superior store brand: the 365 Everyday Value Daily Facial Cleanser. Just like the name brand product, it's non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, soap-free, and a great choice for daily washing. But unlike Cetaphil, the this one does not contain sodium laureth, a detergent that may strip the skin.

Fresh Umbrian Clay Purifying Treatment

Fresh Umbrian Clay Cleansing BarThis all-natural treatment bar cleanses deep for instant detox, purification, and regeneration of healthy skin cells. Its formula is made from pure Umbrian clay—a proprietary ingredient with a high-mineral content that neutralizes acidity of the skin as it purifies and clarifies the complexion. A quick wash with this bar leaves skin fresh but not tight.

Murad Clarifying Cleanser

Murad Facial CleanserThis gel cleanser penetrates skin to fight blemishes at their start. The strongest of the products we suggest, this formula combats acne and stunts breakouts with encapsulated salicylic acid to kill bacteria and provide continuous treatment for hours, even after rinsing.

Origins Clean Energy Gentle Cleansing Oil

Origins Facial CleanserA lightweight, multipurpose cleansing oil made from olive, sunflower, sesame and safflower. Oils remove dirt, makeup, and pollutants, allowing your sebaceous glands to relax and act natural. Vitamin E helps soothe irritation and allows skin to breathe freely. Gently massage a small dab of this oil and some lukewarm water into the skin for soft, supremely cleansed results.
